I am hardly a morning person. The only possible reasons that I would wake up before 6AM are:
- I have to cram for something
- I have to be early somewhere and I’m on color-coding
- I have to drink medicine if I’m sick
Waking up really early to watch the delayed telecast of the France-Portugal semis at 5AM was not in the agenda. Although, I programmed the TV to switch on at around 5AM [I did the math and estimated what time the game will end in Munich] so CNN or BBC can update me on the bloody score—then I will go back to sleep. Of course, after finding out that France won, I watched the delayed telecast anyway…at 5AM! @_@
Probably, the best part in that game for me was not the penalty shot that did it for France but the sportsmanship and mutual respect that the team captains displayed at the end of the game. Zidance (FRA) and Luis Figo (POR), once teammates in Real Madrid [Spanish Football Club], hugged and exchanged shirts [tradition, tradition]. (Plus, a bonus glimpse of nice-looking torsos…heck, both of them are yummy, period! LOL!)
